Behind the green door.
Nyonya cooking from our grandmother’s recipe book, served in a 1920s shophouse in Joo Chiat. Buah keluak, laksa and kueh, made the slow way.
Tue–Sun, lunch and dinner

Three dishes she was known for
Each takes a day or more to make. Order them and you’re eating a family recipe that has never been written down outside our kitchen.

Ayam buah keluak
$28
Chicken braised with black keluak nuts, their earthy filling scraped out, pounded with rempah and stuffed back in. Two days of work in one bowl.

Nyonya laksa
$18
Coconut and dried-shrimp gravy, thick rice noodles cut short so you can eat it with a spoon, prawns, cockles and laksa leaf.

Kueh lapis
$6 a slice
Eighteen layers, each grilled one at a time, with butter and spice. We bake one cake a day.
Tok panjang, the long table
The Peranakan feast for birthdays, weddings and reunions: one long table and every dish at once. We cook it for groups of eight to twenty.
- Twelve dishes, kueh and drinks
- $78++ per guest, the whole house for 16 or more
